At ease.

For the soldier. And for anyone handing us their pet. A small-animal hospital that is veteran owned and veterinarian owned, with a real military discount.

Both of them, at ease

Vet owned. Both meanings.

A veteran owns this hospital. So does a veterinarian. They are the same person, and the crest says so. Pick a part of it.

The At Ease Animal Hospital logo: an anchor, a snake coiled on a letter V, a pitbull on the left and a cat on the right, with the name underneath

The anchor

Vet, the first way.

The anchor is the military half. This hospital is veteran owned and operated, and "at ease" is a phrase she has heard a thousand times.

The V and the snake

Vet, the second way.

The snake coiled on a V is the veterinary symbol. A veterinarian owns and runs this hospital: Dr. Moriah Fountain, DVM, and she is the one in the exam room.

The pitbull

Dogs, on purpose this one.

She has two pitbull mixes of her own, so the crest got a pitbull, not a generic dog. Every dog gets the same calm room and the same care here.

The cat

And cats, equally.

Cats are half of who we care for, so the cat sits at the same height as the dog. Neither one is an afterthought.

The greens

Green, not navy. That is Molokai.

The crest is set in green and cream instead of the usual navy. It is a nod to Molokai, where she is from, and the part of her veterinary journey that happened there.

The owner

Dr. Moriah Fountain, DVM.

Originally from Molokai. She went to Iowa State for a B.S. in Animal Ecology with a minor in Animal Science, then to Western University of Health Sciences for her D.V.M.

Off the clock: two pitbull mixes at the beach, snowboarding, baking, and time with her husband and daughter.

At Ease is proudly identified as a veteran, family, Black, Hispanic and woman-owned small business.
